The story begins seven years before the events of FINAL FANTASY VII and follows Zack Fair, a young and ambitious SOLDIER of Shinra. Zack is tasked with tracking down a 1st class SOLDIER named Genesis Rhapsodos. Throughout his mission, he will uncover the dark secrets of Shinra’s experiments and the monsters being created. Characters from the FINAL FANTASY VII franchise, including Cloud, Sephiroth, and Aerith, appear in the game. It is a remastered version of the original CRISIS CORE – FINAL FANTASY VII with a complete HD graphics overhaul, remastered soundtrack, redesigned interface, and an updated combat system.
