Biotin may interfere with laboratory diagnostic tests based on the biotin/streptavidin interaction, producing falsely decreased or falsely increased results, depending on the test used. The risk of interference is higher in children and patients with renal insufficiency and increases with the dose. Possible biotin interference should be considered when interpreting laboratory test results, especially if there is a lack of consistency with the clinical presentation. In cases of suspected interference, alternative diagnostic tests that are not sensitive to biotin interference should be used. INTERACTIONS: Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines. Do not consume raw eggs during treatment, as raw egg white contains avidin, a substance that renders biotin ineffective. DOSAGE: Take 3-4 tablets a day, swallowing them with water.
