Description
Medical device with mechanical action based on sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, and calcium carbonate, formulated to perform 3 synergistic actions: block acid reflux, reduce burning, and protect the esophageal mucosa. Maalox RefluRAPID is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux to reduce related symptoms, such as: burning, gastric pyrosis during pregnancy, reflux esophagitis, acid regurgitation, poor digestion, nighttime reflux symptoms, cough, and laryngeal-pharyngeal inflammation.
Thanks to the action of sodium alginate and the contained carbonates, it can start to act in 3 minutes. Upon contact with stomach acid, sodium alginate reacts to form a gel while the carbonates release carbon dioxide, allowing the gel to float and thus form a barrier that mechanically prevents the rise of gastric juices into the esophagus. The presence of bicarbonate also helps to reduce stomach hyperacidity. Thanks to its peculiar characteristics, it exerts a barrier effect that protects the esophageal mucosa from acid aggression, promoting its regeneration and helping to prevent the risk of reflux esophagitis recurrence. Its formulation, characterized by a specific balance between sodium alginate and carbonates, favors rapid action.

Ingredients
Sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, calcium carbonate, purified water, flavor, polyacrylic acid, ethylparaben, sodium methylparaben, sodium saccharin.

Gluten-free and lactose-free.

Usage instructions
Adults and children over 12 years: 1 or 2 sachets (10 ml each) after main meals and at bedtime. Shake before use. Children under 12 years: should be administered only on medical advice. For the methods of taking the product, carefully follow the recommendations provided by the doctor.

Warnings
Do not use in case of severe renal insufficiency. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the components. In case of adverse reactions, discontinue use and consult a doctor. The product may interfere with the absorption of orally administered medications. Therefore, it is advisable to consult a doctor in case of simultaneous intake of oral medications, which must in any case be administered at least 2 hours apart. If no improvement is observed after 7 days of treatment, it is advisable to consult a doctor. The product may cause a feeling of bloating. Adhering to the usage instructions reduces the likelihood of this occurring. This product contains approximately 100 mg (4.4 mmol) of sodium and approximately 36 mg (0.9 mmol) of calcium per sachet (10 ml). Consult a doctor if following a low-salt diet, such as in cases of hypertension, heart, liver, and kidney problems, and in cases of hypercalcemia, nephrocalcinosis, and recurrent calcium-containing kidney stones.
Keep out of reach and sight of children. Do not use the product after the expiration date indicated on the package and sachets. Do not refrigerate.

Storage
Store at a temperature between 8°C and 25°C, protected from light and away from heat sources.
