Description
Medical device containing magnesium peroxide (not less than 25% MgO ₂) that releases oxygen in the gastrointestinal tract. This oxygen release is accompanied by a significant reduction of intestinal germs, which are present in high numbers in acute and chronic intestinal diseases (dysbiosis).
Ozovit MP is therefore used in cases of gastrointestinal disturbances caused by abnormal fermentation and putrefaction. Ozovit MP has proven effective as a preliminary disinfectant agent for the intestinal tract in cases of dysbiosis. In intestinal mycoses, a specific antifungal treatment should precede the use of Ozovit MP, as its activity on fungi and protozoa has been found to be cytostatic.
Ozovit is a saline laxative with osmotic action. Since the absorption of magnesium peroxide is difficult, this results in water retention and an increase in water in the intestinal lumen. The intestinal content becomes bulkier, leading to increased peristalsis.
Ozovit MP is indicated for occasional constipation episodes and as an intestinal evacuant before diagnostic examinations or specific therapeutic treatments.

Composition
100 g contain: 100 g of magnesium peroxide.

Usage Instructions
Adults: 1 to 3 scoops of powder in water or fruit juice, 2 times a day 1 hour after meals.
In case of severe diarrhea, reduce the dosage or suspend treatment for 2-3 days. Then resume administration with a lower dosage.

Warnings
Ozovit MP should not be used for more than one week.
Do not take in case of renal insufficiency and intestinal obstruction (ileus). Do not take in case of known hypersensitivity to magnesium peroxide. Do not administer to children and adolescents. In rare cases, side effects may occur such as severe diarrhea with intestinal cramps and loss of electrolytes. These can be avoided by reducing the dosage.
Interactions with other medications: generally, to avoid impairing absorption, an interval of 1-2 hours should be respected between the administration of Ozovit MP and the following substances: iron, tetracyclines, sodium fluoride, isoniazid, chlorpromazine, and digoxin.
As with other laxatives, prolonged use of Ozovit MP may cause loss of water, potassium, and other salts, leading to disturbances in cardiac function and myasthenia. For this reason, the duration of administration should be limited to one week.
