It is designed to manage the 3 main local obstacles to healing: exudate, infection, and biofilm.
AQUACEL Ag+ EXTRA incorporates two powerful technologies that work in synergy to manage the fundamental barriers to wound healing.
The Ag+ Technology is a unique formulation containing silver ions, a biofilm-fighting formulation that:
– destroys the biofilm and the bacteria within it
– kills a broad spectrum of bacteria, including antibiotic-resistant ones, thanks to its silver reservoir
– prevents the reformation of biofilm.
The Hydrofiber technology helps create an ideal environment for wound healing, ensuring that the Ag+ Technology works optimally:
– traps excess exudate, bacteria, and biofilm to minimize cross-infections and prevent maceration of the perilesional skin
– microconforms to the wound bed, maintaining the right level of moisture and eliminating voids where bacteria could proliferate
– interacts with the wound bed to form a cohesive gel, minimizing pain during dressing changes.
