Description
Sterile ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate at 0.4% of biotechnological origin with high molecular weight. Sodium hyaluronate is a mucopolysaccharide that restores the balance of the tear film in case of alterations. Its concentration of 0.4% allows for greater hydration with a prolonged action over time.
Irilens 0.4% eye drops is a lubricating and moisturizing ophthalmic solution indicated in all cases where disturbances caused by dry eyes occur, such as contact lens use, environmental factors (sun, wind, cold, smoky environments, dry air from heating or air conditioning), prolonged use of personal computers, advanced age, use of medications (antidepressants, anxiolytics, hormones, and antihistamines), and ocular surgery.
The formulation of Irilens 0.4% eye drops in a multidose bottle contains sodium chlorite as a preservative, which performs an effective antimicrobial action inside the container, blocking bacterial proliferation and ensuring better tolerability of the product as it belongs to the category of “disappearing preservatives” which decompose once instilled in the eye.
In fact, sodium chlorite, after application, converts to oxygen, which evaporates, and sodium chloride, which becomes part of the solution itself and does not perform any action. Unlike other preservatives, this component does not remain in the eye as such, avoiding adverse events generally related to the use of normal preservatives.
It can also be used with all types of contact lenses.

Components
Sodium hyaluronate 0.4%, monosodium phosphate monohydrate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, disodium EDTA, sodium chlorite, purified water.
Does not contain benzalkonium chloride.

Usage Instructions
Open the bottle by removing the protective cap by twisting it. Instill 1-2 drops in each eye by gently squeezing the bottle. After use, close immediately. Also indicated for frequent use, several times a day if necessary, based on need or doctor’s instructions. Contact lens wearers can apply 1-2 drops of solution on each lens before insertion to keep the eye moist and lubricated.

Warnings
The product is for external ophthalmic use only.
The product is to be used exclusively by one patient.
Do not use the product if the container is damaged or not perfectly closed at the time of first opening.
Wait at least 10-15 minutes after use before instilling other ophthalmic medications.
During application, do not touch the eye or any other surface with the tip of the container.
Do not use in case of known incompatibility with any component of the preparation.
Do not use the product after the expiration date indicated on the package.
Do not dispose of the container in the environment after use.
Keep out of reach of children.
In case of disturbances during use, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
In some cases, after administration, a brief blurring of vision has been observed due to the density of the solution, which disappears very quickly.

Storage
Store at a temperature below 30 °C.
Validity after opening: 3 months.
