Description
Medical device with laxative action that, through an osmotic action, regulates the intestine naturally. It is not absorbed nor fermented in the intestine, does not irritate the mucosa, and is eliminated in the feces in unchanged form. Dicopeg is particularly indicated for chronic constipation and in cases of occasionally irregular intestines. Thanks to its affinity for water, Dicopeg softens stools, facilitating evacuation without causing cramps or abdominal pain, nor urgency. Its effectiveness does not diminish over time. Dicopeg comes in powder form for oral solution.

How to use
Recommended doses
From 6 months to 2 years (up to 12 kg): 0.8 g of product per kg of body weight per day.
From 2 to 11 years (from 12 kg to 20 kg): 1 g of product per kg of body weight per day.
Above 11 years (or > 20 kg): 10-30 g of product per day.
The daily dose can be divided into multiple administrations. The dose can be increased or decreased based on individual response to treatment. The most appropriate daily dosage for age group should be determined based on the child’s weight and the severity of constipation. It is advisable to consult a doctor. Use the product in pediatric patients only after medical advice.
The maximum necessary dose does not normally exceed 30 g of product per day.
Instructions for use
Based on the above dosage, take the amount of product using the measuring spoon with markings that allow dosing 0.5 g (first mark), 1 g (second mark), and 2 g (level spoon) of product. Dissolve a level spoon (equal to 2 g) in about 1/4 glass of water (about 25 ml). Drink the reconstituted solution. The product can be reconstituted in advance in the appropriate volume of water and the solution stored in the refrigerator covered for up to a maximum of 24 hours. It is advisable to take Dicopeg away from meals.

Ingredients
Macrogol 3350. Excipients: silicon dioxide, flavor, sodium saccharin.

Gluten free.

Warnings
Do not take Dicopeg in case of known hypersensitivity to macrogol, perforation and/or gastrointestinal obstruction, known gastric or intestinal lesions, severe inflammatory diseases of the intestinal tract such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and toxic megacolon.
Interactions with drugs: no known interactions with drugs, but it is advisable that the intake of the product is spaced at least 2 hours from that of orally administered drugs as the osmotic power of macrogol and the increased speed of gastrointestinal transit induced may negatively affect their effectiveness. Consult a doctor before taking Dicopeg if other therapies are in progress.

Do not exceed the maximum daily dose. The product is single-use: do not use partially opened or opened bags at unknown times, as this method of use may pose risks of contamination of the product. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use in children under 6 months. During treatment with Dicopeg, it is advisable to follow an adequate diet, accompanied by the administration of an oral rehydration solution (ORS) to avoid dehydration, and it is advisable to consult a doctor. Do not use the product for more than 30 days; if symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, in the original packaging. The expiration date indicated refers to the product properly stored in intact packaging. Do not use the product after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
Validity in intact packaging: 24 months.
Once the jar is opened, the product has a validity of 3 months.
